Saint Petersburg 2016 Student Programme

Student Programme Saint PetersburgSaint Petersburg 2016 international conference and exhibition will feature an extensive student programme. The programme will be conducted in English to further promote international cooperation and knowledge sharing during the conference and make the event truly international. On Thursday, 14 April 2016 the student programme will include motivational speakers, student lectures, guided exhibition tours, and the traditional EAGE Geo-Quiz – a friendly competition of university teams.

The Call for Papers was open until 15 October 2015. Student travel grants will be available for select students to attend the conference and exhibition, the application deadline was 25 January 2016. The student programme is open to all registered student delegates.

Student Travel Grants

The EAGE student travel grants offer students support towards their participation in the student and technical programme of the Saint Petersburg 2016 international conference and exhibition 10-14 April 2016. Students that have submitted an extended abstract for the Technical Programme of Saint Petersburg 2016 conference can apply for a student travel grant. Students that are accepted to receive the travel grant will receive an allocated amount of funds on-site during the conference in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

EAGE will not specifically cover all expenses to be incurred by students in Saint Petersburg. Instead, EAGE offers an estimated amount of support based on where each student is travelling from plus other potential expenses. EAGE anticipates that the grant amount provided will support the foundation of the student’s expenses.

In other words, it is the responsibility of each student to pre-pay all of their necessary expenses. If students are accepted for a grant, they will receive a lump sum of support funds on-site. The amount of the travel grant will be communicated to the student beforehand via e-mail. This amount will contribute to their overall expenses already made, but won’t necessarily cover them precisely or entirely.

The deadline for student travel grant applications was 25 January 2016.
