Field trip description
The field trip will demonstrate a geological transect through the Eastern Alps, including outcrops of the Rhenodanubian Flysch Zone, the Northern Calcareous Alps, and Neogene basins. Geological structures of the Alpine fold-and-thrust belt will be discussed. Deep-water clastics and shallow-water carbonate rocks, correlations into the subcrop of the Vienna Basin and potential reservoir geometries and qualities will be discussed.
