About Linda Lerchbaumer

Linda is a hard rock geologist by background. She earned her Master’s degree at the University of Vienna in 2008 with studies on the Variscan basement in the Eastern Tauern Window/Austria. For the following four years she was investigating the genesis of porphyry ore deposits at the Bavarian Research Institute in Bayreuth. The results of these studies are several publications on the transport of copper and molybdenum in magmatic hydrothermal fluids and the granting of the PhD by the University of Bayreuth in 2012. In early 2013 Linda joined OMV as an exploration geologist. Since then she has been working out of the Vienna head office on exploration projects from Tunisia, Gabon, and Norway. She participated in the ‘Integrated Graduate Development Program’ and worked six months with OMV Norge in Stavanger before returning to Vienna in spring 2016.

Beyond her actual job which includes the regional evolution of sedimentary basins and seeking new prospects, Linda continues to be engaged in Alpine geology and mining and is interested in finding solutions to the increasing demand for resources and the need for nature conservation.
