Short Course 1

Capability of polymers and surfactants to improve oil recovery: mechanisms of oil trap, conditions of its mobilization, assessments and predictions

About the short course
Modern theoretical approach on chemical flooding simulation and analytical 1-D solutions are briefly observed. The main content deals with performance of capability of the theory in selection of chemical reactants and its compositions, decision on application of particular technology, conclusions on reactant slug concentration and size, assessment and prediction of the results of chemical treatment.

The objectives are to develop a valid representation on the choice of chemical treatment type, present main issues of reactant and technology selection, with application of graphic techniques for preliminary assessment and prediction of the results of chemical treatment application.
