Geochemistry

The EAGE Community on geochemistry is the network of members interested in sharing knowledge and developing skills among geoscientists and engineers crossing paths with geochemical applications or interested in pursuing a career in this field.

The Community operates in collaboration with our Associated Society EAG, the European Association of Geochemistry, a globally recognized non-profit organization promoting excellence and knowledge exchange in geochemistry.

This Community is open to members in all stages of their career.

Cooperation

EAGE and EAG became Associated Societies in 2017. This collaborative initiative brings our cooperation one step further to facilitate connections between industry and academia, and explore new opportunities in all areas of organic and inorganic geochemistry.

Geochemistry is a key topic featured in many EAGE and EAG events, including Goldschmidt, EAGE Annual and the GET conference. Through this special interest community we will keep you informed on this and all other relevant opportunities offered by both societies to present or publish your work, tools to support your career progression and learning resources.

Geochemistry Opportunities

Geochemistry applies to a wide range of applications: from the understanding of organic matter cycles over geological time scales to integrated paleoenvironmental and climatic studies, as well as applications for new energies. EAGE is proud to accompany the developments in this field by providing a platform to discuss challenges and solutions. Join the conversation at one of the following meetings:

  • IMOG 2023 (10-15 September 2023. Montpellier, France)
  • or browse for more in the EAGE calendar of events!

Siddharth Misra

Award-Spinning-coin-

Prof Dr Siddharth Misra’s research focuses on improving subsurface characterization and prospect evaluation for the exploration of hydrocarbons, minerals and water resources.

His major contribution is in the theory of electromagnetic responses of geological formations to various charge polarization phenomena. The theory has enabled him to introduce a multi-frequency electromagnetic log-inversion technique to remove dielectric effects for improved estimation of hydrocarbon pore volume.
