Local Chapters are groups of active EAGE members located around a certain geographic area actively collaborating with the Association, promoting geoscience and engineering, the work of EAGE and the training and professional update of their members.
EAGE members can join existing Local Chapters or apply to start a new one!
Local Chapter Activities
- Local events (e.g.lectures, technical talks with guest speakers, panel discussions, special sessions, career orientation activities)
- Collaborations with local stakeholders and the wider network of EAGE (other Local Chapters, Special Interest Communities, Student Chapters, Associated Societies)
- You are always welcome to contact your Local Chapter to propose new ideas and activities!

Event support | Local Chapters can apply for financial support from EAGE to organize local activities |
Promotion | EAGE assists in expanding the reach of Local Chapters activities through various channels, including newsletters and social media. Local Chapter are also invited to submit periodical articles to EAGE’s flagship magazine First Break |
Students Section | Each Local Chapter can establish a Student Section to encourage more younger members to get involved and grow in their professional path. EAGE supports the involvement of students within Local Chapters by sponsoring the annual membership fees for maximum 10 student members per year |
Free learning resources | Local Chapters can request unlimited free webinars to be scheduled for their members – or for multiple groups connected at the same time – from EAGE’s Distinguished Lecturer Programme (DLP) |
