Natural hydrogen is rapidly emerging as one of the most talked-about potential energy sources of the decade. Positioned as a low-cost, naturally occurring alternative that could play a meaningful role in the energy transition, it has generated both excitement and debate. But how much of this momentum is backed by science – and how much is hype?
To help the geoscience and engineering community navigate these developments, EAGE is pleased to introduce a new short course: Exploitation and Commercialization Potential of Natural Hydrogen, taught by Dr. Arnout Everts (AEGeo Sdn Bhd).
Through the course, participants will gain a balanced view of the sector – grounded in geological fundamentals but equally focused on commercial relevance.
This full programme will be available as a two-day online course later this year, but members are invited to join a special one-hour preview webinar on 4 February (10:00–11:00 CET).
Who should attend?
This training is ideal for technical and managerial professionals with interest in natural hydrogen, either from an applied research perspective or from a business/investment perspective, including:
- Geoscientists, engineers, and technical managers involved in natural hydrogen initiatives
- Government and public-sector staff supporting sustainable subsurface energy projects
- Finance professionals and investors evaluating natural hydrogen opportunities
