EAGE, in collaboration with the Geological Society of London (GSL) invite applications for Editorial Board Member positions for our journal Petroleum Geoscience. Appointments would be for an initial 2 year term. We would particularly welcome applications from women geoscientists.
Petroleum Geoscience transcends disciplinary boundaries and publishes a balanced mix of articles that drives the science to enhance sustainable exploration and development covering all aspects of the petroleum system. The journal content reflects the international nature of the research.
Candidates for the position should:
- Have experience with the peer review process as an author and reviewer
- Have a versatile and broad knowledge of research published in Petroleum Geoscience. The ability to handle papers in the following research areas would be particularly beneficial, although not essential:
- Flow simulation
- Enhanced oil recovery
- Petrophysics/rock physics
- Unconventional reservoirs
- Seismic acquisition/processing/inversion
- Borehole geology & geophysics
- Geochemistry & source rock analysis
- Data mining and machine learning
- Geological modelling
Duties of the Editorial Board Member will include:
- With the support of the EiC and Deputy Editors, Editorial board members are assigned submitted papers, invite reviewers and oversee the peer review process.
- Take responsibility for the scientific quality and editorial standards of the journal.
- Ensure that GSL’s Code of Publishing Ethics is applied consistently and in accordance with COPE guidelines.
- Act as an ambassador for the journal.
- Attend Editorial Board Meetings (1–2 a year).
