Student webinars expand disciplines covered

Two brand new EAGE student webinars focusing on near surface geoscience topics

EAGE student webinars allow us to easily connect students and lecturers online, opening up a wealth of knowledge to students around the globe.

On 23 and 28 June, we’re bringing two brand new student webinars on near surface geoscience topics – mineral exploration and hydrogeophysics.

  • ‘Seismic Application for Mining using Passive Sources’ by Prof Deyan Draganov (Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands) – 23 June, 15:00-16:30 CEST;
  • ‘Monitoring water distribution and dynamics in the critical zone, geophysicists have the potential’ by Dr Damien Jougnot (Sorbonne University, France) – 28 June, 15:00-16:00 CEST.

The new deliveries are part of a larger effort to further diversify the offering of webinars in relevant disciplines on key topics including mineral exploration, geology and energy transition.

Registration for the new webinars are open and student members of EAGE can register for free.

Siddharth Misra

Award-Spinning-coin-

Prof Dr Siddharth Misra’s research focuses on improving subsurface characterization and prospect evaluation for the exploration of hydrocarbons, minerals and water resources.

His major contribution is in the theory of electromagnetic responses of geological formations to various charge polarization phenomena. The theory has enabled him to introduce a multi-frequency electromagnetic log-inversion technique to remove dielectric effects for improved estimation of hydrocarbon pore volume.
